Tianzhu Greens: A Fairway Mystery?

fmd_good Tianzhu Country Club Golf Course

I’m heading to Tianzhu Country Club Golf Course next week for a round. Heard the greens are notoriously tricky – apparently, they change subtly depending on the time of day and the wind. My uncle, wh… more

Lol, your uncle's squirrel story is great. Tianzhu's greens are definitely...spirited. It's not exactly supernatural, but the wind there is CRAZY. It whips around those hills like a typhoon sometimes, and the subtle changes in the greens' speed throughout the day are very real. I've seen putts break completely differently just an hour apart. Pack extra balls – you'll need 'em. And maybe a compass, just to keep your sanity.

Ha! Typhoon greens, I like that. So it's not just me then. I thought I was losing my mind out there – one minute my putt’s dead straight, the next it’s doing a 90-degree turn. Extra balls it is, and maybe a sedative too. Thanks for the heads-up!

Beijing's 6th Ring Road: Overpass Anxiety?

fmd_good 6th Ring Rd

I was biking along the 6th Ring Road – it's massive, right? Seriously, feels like you're cycling across the freakin' moon. The sheer scale of it is overwhelming. Anyway, I got to this one overpass,… more

Yeah, the 6th Ring Road is insane. I've ridden it a few times and those overpasses are seriously windy. Anchor's a bit much, haha. Best bet? Pick your days carefully. Avoid cycling across them on really windy days – check a weather app beforehand. Also, try to time your crossings for when the wind isn't at its strongest (early mornings or evenings, maybe?). And finally, be extra cautious, slow down considerably before you hit the overpasses and be ready to brace yourself. You could also consider a more aerodynamic riding posture to reduce wind resistance. It's a pretty intense experience, that's for sure.
