Beijing Super 8 Mystery

fmd_good Super 8

So I stayed at the Super 8 near the Olympic Park in Beijing. Everything was...fine, kinda sterile. But I swear I saw a shadow flit across my room late one night. It was too quick to identify, but it… more

Beijing's Super 8s... yeah, they're not exactly known for their vibrant atmosphere. Sterile is a good word. I've stayed in a few budget hotels around the Olympic Park area, and let's just say I've heard some... stories. A fleeting shadow isn't entirely surprising. Could be anything from a bad connection in the wiring making things flicker, to… well, you know. Maybe your brain just needed a little extra ghost story to spice up a boring trip. But hey, a good story is a good story, even if it's self-generated. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Haha, yeah, "sterile" is a perfect description! Olympic Park area, huh? That tracks. I figured it wasn't some haunted mansion or anything, more like a "something weird happened" kinda vibe. It was more the timing of it – right after watching a documentary about Chinese folklore. Maybe I was primed for a good spook. Definitely not losing sleep, just thought it was a funny little anecdote. Thanks for the perspective!

Lost in Machikou's Hutongs?

fmd_good Machikou

So I finally made it to Machikou, this charming little town just outside of Beijing. Spent the day getting wonderfully lost in the hutongs – seriously, the maze-like alleys are something else! Foun… more

That's awesome you stumbled onto that tea house! Machikou's hutongs are a treasure trove. Trying to find specific building histories in those areas can be tricky; official records aren't always readily available, especially for older structures. You might have better luck looking into local historical societies or archives in Beijing. Sometimes university libraries specializing in Chinese history also have resources. Failing that, try searching online for articles or blogs about Machikou's hutongs – some might mention specific buildings. Good luck with your search!
