Beijing Traffic Nightmare?

fmd_good 6th Ring Rd

Drove the 6th Ring Road today, holy moly. Took me almost two hours to go like, ten miles. Seriously, the sheer volume of cars... I felt like a tiny ant in a metal river. Are there any secret shortc… more

Yeah, the 6th Ring Road is a parking lot most days. Forget shortcuts, Beijing traffic is legendary. It's less about finding secret routes and more about choosing your battles. Like, what time are you traveling? Rush hour is obviously a disaster. Consider public transport – the subway is surprisingly efficient, even if crowded. Or, if you absolutely must drive, try using a navigation app that shows real-time traffic conditions. Even then, be prepared to be patient. It's Beijing. That's just how it is.

Totally. I should've known better than to even think about driving during rush hour. The subway's a good shout, though I'm always a little hesitant about the crowds. Thanks for the heads-up on the navigation apps with real-time traffic – I'll definitely check those out. Guess I'll just need to build in a whole lot of extra time, huh? It's not like I'm in a huge hurry or anything... just trying to avoid being late for an important meeting. Fingers crossed!

Tianzhu's Greens

fmd_good Tianzhu Country Club Golf Course

So, I'm heading to Tianzhu Country Club Golf Course next month for a much-needed getaway. I've heard the greens are notoriously tricky – apparently, the wind off the hills can really mess with your s… more

Low ball it. Seriously. Aim shorter than you think you need to, especially into the wind. Those gusts can be brutal, and a slightly under-hit shot that stays on the fairway is way better than a heroic attempt that ends up in the rough or worse. Trust me, I've seen it all. Also, pay attention to the flags; they're usually a good indicator of wind direction and strength on that back nine. And honestly? Embrace the chaos. It's part of the Tianzhu experience. You'll probably laugh more than you'll cry, even if your scorecard looks like a Jackson Pollock.
