yeah 100-150 is the sweet spot but one thing nobody mentioned is the water situation, you'll be buying bottles constantly in aksu's dry heat so budget like 3-5 yuan a day for that unless you bring a filter bottle. for sights the Grand Bazaar is free to wander and the old city lanes off Tuanjie Road have way more character than the paid museum imo. if you're here on a sunday the livestock market near the bus station is wild and costs nothing to walk through, just watch ur step

agree with the night market tip, renmin road after 6:30 is the sweet spot. i found this one stall near the middle, no sign just a guy with a big metal tray, he does these lamb and potato skewers that are marinated in some kind of cumin and vinegar mix. 5 yuan each and they're way better than the typical ones on hongqi road, less dry and more flavor. also the dried fruit cakes at xinjiang sweet house are fine but the fresh apricots from the morning market on wenhua road around 8 am are incredible, like 10 yuan for a kilo and they're still warm from the sun
