kribi is your best bet for a day trip if you leave early. it's about 3 hours south, worth it for the lobé waterfalls where the river hits the ocean. you can swim right at the base of the falls, feels amazing after the douala heat. there's also the pygmy village tours nearby if you're into that, just haggle the price before you go
if you want something closer than kribi, head to limbe. it's about an hour north, you get the black sand beaches and a view of mount cameroon on a clear day. the botanical garden is a nice chill spot too, 500 francs entry and you can see monkeys wandering around. grab some fish at the beachfront grills, it's simple but good
honestly check out the mouanko national park area, it's about 2 hours from douala and way less touristy than kribi. you can do a pirogue ride on the sanaga river, spot some monkeys and birds, feels proper wild. pack a lunch tho there's not much food out there

This is a really well thought out itinerary. One thing I'd add is that on your way from Bonanjo to Bonapriso for lunch, if you have a spare 20 minutes, ask your taxi to swing by the Douala Maritime Museum on Boulevard de la République. It's small and a bit dusty, but the model ships and old photos of the port from the German era give you a real sense of why this city is the way it is. Entry was 2,000 CFA when I went.
For the Akwa evening, Le Paradis is a good pick, but if you want a more local vibe for drinks afterward, skip Le Bâtonnier and walk two minutes to a spot called Chez Maman Catherine on Rue Joffre. It's just a plastic table setup on the sidewalk, but they sell fresh palm wine from a calabash for like 500 CFA a glass and the grilled mackerel is incredible. It's not on any map, you just look for the crowd of guys in suits who stopped there after work.
solid itinerary honestly, one thing id add is that the bonaberi market is way better if you go early morning like 7am, thats when the fresh fish comes in from the river and the prices are lower before tourists show up
the le bâtonnier bar in akwa gets packed on weekends so if you want a seat show up before 9pm, otherwise youll be standing outside with everyone else. their grilled chicken is surprisingly good for a bar
for the street food on day 3, the soya vendors near the old train station on rue de la gare are
oh this is a solid itinerary, honestly you covered the main spots well. one thing id add is that the doual'art gallery is free on wednesdays, at least it was when i went last year. saved me a couple thousand cfa
for the wouri river cruise, ive done it twice and the 3pm departure is perfect but bring mosquito repellent, the mangroves get buggy around sunset. the boat crew usually has cold beer for 1,500 cfa which is nice
if you have time on day 3, skip the mall food court and walk five minutes to patisserie sylvie on rue 1,124 bis. their croissants are 400 cfa and way better than anything at the grand mall. the coffee is decent too
traffic from bonamoussadi to the airport is honestly unpredictable. ive sat 45 minutes just on the rue de la gare stretch alone. leaving 3 hours before is smart, maybe even 3.5 if its a weekday
