A conta salario is normally opened by your employer, not by you, so you may need to wait until you start. Nubank, Inter and C6 all take a CPF, but a resident CPF (not the visitor one) is what you want. For the first weeks, your home visa debit often works at card machines, though some shops still prefer Pix or cash. Carry a few hundred reais as backup.

worth adding that Pix is basically everywhere now, even street vendors take it, so linking it to Nubank once your CPF clears makes those first weeks way easier. just dont count on cash machines late at night in places like Consolacao.
