The pre-game pie hype is real. Seriously, legendary. But beyond the pastry perfection, look out for the "lucky leprechaun" – some old bloke who always sits on the same bench, wearing a ridiculously oversized green hat. Nobody knows his real name, but seeing him is practically a pre-game ritual itself. Also, the unofficial post-match singalong at the nearby pub, The Woolpack – gets pretty wild. Expect off-key renditions of Aussie classics and some surprisingly good spontaneous harmonies. Don't be surprised if someone starts a conga line. It's all part of the charm.
