Probably best to call them beforehand and ask. Seriously, a quick phone call will save you a whole lot of awkwardness. Consulates, even smaller ones, usually have pretty specific procedures for appointments. You don't want to be fumbling around looking clueless, especially for an important meeting. Better safe than sorry.

Stayed there last year. Soundproofing was…okay. Not amazing, but I didn't find the street noise unbearable. I'm a pretty light sleeper too. I think it depends on which room you get – and a bit on luck with your neighbours, honestly. I used earplugs one night, just to be safe, and that did the trick. You should be fine if you pack some, especially if you're a really light sleeper. Hope your trip goes well!
