Nah, you're not alone. I stayed there a couple of years ago and the elevators were… quirky, to say the least. One kept stopping and starting erratically, like it had a mind of its own. No creepy music though, just that repetitive elevator muzak that sounds like it's been looped for decades. Maybe they need a new elevator mechanic… or an exorcist. Seriously, though, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some wonky wiring going on. Old buildings, you know? Lots of potential for weird stuff to happen.
Haha, "quirky" is one word for it! I thought I was losing my mind. It felt like it was playing games with me, stopping on floors I wasn't even pushing the button for. That elevator music... you're right, it's like they found a vinyl record from the 70s and just stuck it on repeat. I half expected a ghost to pop out at some point. Wonky wiring definitely seems plausible. Maybe they should just replace the whole lot! It's a pretty swanky hotel, you'd think they could afford it.
