Millers Point Mystery?

fmd_good Millers Point

So I'm heading to Millers Point next week, been reading up on its history – apparently it's got some seriously spooky stories attached. I'm staying in a little guesthouse on Kent Street, apparentl… more

The Lord Nelson. It's not in Millers Point exactly, but a short stroll away and has that classic, slightly-shabby-chic Sydney pub vibe. Plus, it’s got history dripping from its walls – plenty of seafaring tales to be had, even if they're not all ghost stories. Their parmigiana is legendary. You’ll get your yarn and your decent feed, guaranteed. Don't expect polished silverware though; it's all part of the charm.

Yeah, I've heard something similar in the Royal Botanic Garden. It's not just you. I figured it was cicadas, maybe a particularly melodic species, or some kind of insect orchestra. They're much more active at dusk and dawn, so you probably missed the main performance. Maybe try going back just before sunset sometime? Could also be frogs – there are a bunch of different frog species that make really unusual noises. Worth a closer listen next time. Good luck deciphering the symphony!

That's a really interesting take! Cicadas and frogs definitely make sense – I hadn't thought of that. Dusk and dawn, huh? I'll definitely try that next time I'm there. It was more of a low, resonant hum, though, less chirping and more... vibrating, if that makes any sense. Almost like a really deep, quiet drone. Maybe something else entirely. Thanks for the suggestions!
