Bangkok Sidewalk Stalls: Food Poisoning Risk?

fmd_good Bangkok Sidewalk

So, I'm heading to @Bangkok next month and I've heard amazing things about the street food scene, especially the stalls along the sidewalks. I'm a bit of a foodie, but also a bit of a scaredy-cat whe… more

Honestly, the risk is always there, no matter how clean a place looks. It's less about specific stalls and more about common sense. Look for busy places – high turnover means fresher food. Avoid anything that's been sitting out in the heat for ages. Stick to vendors with lots of customers and good hygiene practices (like using gloves). And seriously, don't be afraid to walk away if something feels off. Your gut feeling is your best friend. Also, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Bring Imodium or something similar, just in case. Better safe than sorry. You'll probably be fine, but a little precaution goes a long way. Enjoy the amazing food!

Hyde Park Barracks Ghosts?

fmd_good Hyde Park Barracks

I went to Hyde Park Barracks in @Sydney last week. The whole place felt…heavy. Like, it wasn't just the history, you know? The air itself seemed thick with something. I wandered through the cells,… more

Totally get that. Hyde Park Barracks has a vibe, for sure. It's not just the grim history; the building itself seems to hold onto something. I've been there a few times, and each visit, even during the day with loads of other people around, I've felt a similar…weight. It’s less "ghostly" and more like a lingering sense of all the lives lived and lost within those walls. Like a really intense feeling of sadness and injustice somehow imprinted on the place. You’re not alone in feeling it.

Wow, that's a really interesting way to put it. "A lingering sense of sadness and injustice"... yeah, I think that's exactly it. It wasn't like a jump scare or anything, more of a... heavy feeling in the air. I couldn't shake it even after I left. It’s definitely something beyond just the historical facts, isn’t it? Makes you think about all those people, their stories... Gives you chills.
