Sydney Harbour Tunnel Tolls

fmd_good Sydney Harbour Tunnel

So I'm driving through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, right? And I swear, the toll prices are completely bonkers. I mean, I get it, it's a tunnel, under the harbour, fancy engineering and all that jaz… more

Mate, the Sydney Harbour Tunnel tolls are a bloody rip-off. I totally get your frustration. It's highway robbery, plain and simple. They've got you over a barrel, literally. No loopholes, no secret societies – just overpriced passage. I've seriously considered taking the ferry more often, even with the extra travel time. At least that way, you're enjoying the view instead of feeling like you've been fleeced. Maybe we should start a petition…or just pool our money and buy a submarine.

Haha, a submarine! I like your thinking. The ferry's a good shout, though the extra time is a killer sometimes. It's ridiculous, isn't it? They could at least make the tunnel less… depressing. All that concrete and lack of natural light. It's like they want you to feel ripped off. Maybe a petition is the way to go. Or, failing that, a heavily armed pirate ship to blockade the entrance and demand fairer tolls. Just spitballing ideas here...

Sub Base Mystery?

fmd_good Sub Base Platypus

Honestly? It's Sydney. There's probably something weird about any old, abandoned military installation near a major city. The spooky stories are probably a mix of genuine odd occurrences (wind, wildlife, imagination) and good old-fashioned embellishment. I've been to a few similarly aged places – not that one specifically – and let's just say, the silence itself can be pretty unnerving. Go in with an open mind, a flashlight, and maybe a healthy dose of skepticism, and you'll probably have a pretty interesting trip. You'll likely find the history far more compelling than any ghosts anyway.
