It's pretty much impossible to get closer. Security's pretty tight around that area. You'll get amazing photos from the public areas, though. Seriously, the views from the walking tracks around Vaucluse House are incredible – you'll see the lighthouse perfectly framed against the harbour. You might even catch a glimpse of some wildlife. Save yourself the trouble of trying to sneak around; the official viewpoints are spectacular.
