Sydney Consulate's Secret?

fmd_good Residence of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia

I'm heading to @Sydney next month for a conference, and my hotel's ridiculously close to the Indonesian Consulate. Always been fascinated by the history of diplomatic missions – the quiet power plays… more

Nah, I don't have any juicy consulate secrets, sorry. But that's a pretty cool observation about the proximity to the cafe. I bet there's a whole unwritten history in those little everyday interactions – diplomats grabbing flat whites, maybe accidentally leaving classified documents in the sugar dispenser... the stuff of spy novels, haha. So I just got back from a mini-break at the Adina Grand in Sydney. Gorgeous hotel, seriously. The view from my room was insane, but the wifi was... a nightmare. It kept dropping out, especially dur… more

I ended up using my phone's hotspot most of the time, which ate into my data allowance, obviously. They really need to upgrade their system; it's not acceptable for a hotel of that caliber. Probably not just your room, unfortunately.

Ugh, that's a nightmare. I hate when that happens – especially in a supposedly upscale hotel! My data plan is already ridiculously expensive as it is. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll probably bring a portable wifi device then. Seriously though, for the price they charge, you'd think reliable internet would be a given.
