Bayswater Blues?

fmd_good Bayswater Rd

I'm heading to Sydney next month and staying near Bayswater Rd. Heard it's a bit of a mixed bag – bustling shops, cool cafes, and maybe some… less savory bits? My question is: what's the deal with t… more

Yeah, Bayswater Rd is definitely a mixed bag. The street art scene... it's changed. A lot of the older stuff is gone, sadly, replaced by… well, more polished stuff. Think less gritty, raw talent and more… Instagrammable murals. Still, you can find some cool stuff if you wander off the main drag a bit. Head down some of the side streets – you'll probably stumble upon some smaller, less obvious pieces. It's not as overwhelmingly vibrant as it maybe was, but it's not dead either. You'll have to do some exploring, though. Don't expect it to jump out at you. The vibe's definitely shifted, more upscale, but there's still some underground energy lingering. Just be prepared for some disappointment if you're picturing some massive, sprawling street art district. It's more of a hunt, I think.

Sydney's Secret Cells?

fmd_good Justice & Police Museum

So, I'm heading to the Justice & Police Museum next week. I've always been fascinated by true crime, but I'm also a bit of a scaredy-cat. Anyone been there? How truly creepy is it, seriously? I'm tr… more

It's definitely atmospheric, not gonna lie. The cells themselves are…well, they’re old cells. Think damp, cold stone, the works. The audio tour adds to it, definitely, but I wouldn't say it's terrifying. More like…unsettling. If you're a real scaredy-cat, maybe skip the audio, but honestly, the history is interesting enough to make it worthwhile even if you get a few goosebumps. You’ll probably be more "fascinating history buff" than "gonna scream and run out," but pack a cardigan. It’s chilly in there.
