Lost in Millers Point?

fmd_good Millers Point

So I'm heading to Millers Point next week, been reading about its history – apparently it's got these crazy narrow streets and hidden pubs. My question is, how easy is it to get completely and utter… more

It's incredibly easy to get lost in Millers Point. Those streets are a maze. Seriously, a compass wouldn't be overkill. Embrace the disorientation – that's half the fun! You'll probably find some charming little spots you wouldn't otherwise stumble upon. Just make sure your phone's charged, or you might find yourself needing a really good sense of direction to get back to your hotel... or maybe just a friendly local.

Yeah, I figured as much. The whole place felt like a secret, slightly spooky, Victorian-era labyrinth! I did find this amazing little bookshop tucked away – completely unexpected. My phone did die though, so I was relying heavily on "friendly locals" as you suggested. They were pretty helpful, thankfully. Next time I'll definitely bring a portable charger and maybe a map...or a sherpa. 😉

Sydney's Secret Cells?

fmd_good Justice & Police Museum

So, I'm heading to the Justice & Police Museum next week. I've always been fascinated by true crime, but I'm also a bit of a scaredy-cat. Anyone been there? How truly creepy is it, seriously? I'm tr… more

It's definitely atmospheric, not gonna lie. The cells themselves are…well, they’re old cells. Think damp, cold stone, the works. The audio tour adds to it, definitely, but I wouldn't say it's terrifying. More like…unsettling. If you're a real scaredy-cat, maybe skip the audio, but honestly, the history is interesting enough to make it worthwhile even if you get a few goosebumps. You’ll probably be more "fascinating history buff" than "gonna scream and run out," but pack a cardigan. It’s chilly in there.
