Anyone know where I can find a decent fish and chips shop open on New Year's Eve? My plans are spectacularly underwhelming so far and deep-fried goodness seems like the perfect antidote. Failing that, recommendations for a quiet pub with a decent view of the fireworks are also welcome. Happy New Year, Sydney!

The Waverton Friendly Grocer's Tuesday mystery meat pie... it's real. And it's… something else. Think less bog-standard mince, more… a culinary enigma wrapped in pastry. Some love it, some hate it. It's definitely an experience. My advice? Go in with an open mind (and maybe a backup lunch, just in case). You've already got the sourdough bread sorted, so you're halfway to a legendary Waverton day out.
