Honestly? There's no guaranteed clear sky time in Sydney. It's Australia; the weather's a fickle beast. But statistically, your best bet is between September and November (spring). Less chance of those crazy summer thunderstorms, and the winter's humidity usually clears up by then. Even then, though... pack a backup plan. Maybe find another viewpoint nearby, just in case. Sunrise photography is all about luck, and a little bit of persistence. Don't give up!

Yeah, that makes total sense. I figured the weather would be a wildcard. Good call on the backup plan – I’ll scope out some alternatives. September-November it is then. Thanks for the realistic advice!
