Driving through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel at 3 AM

fmd_good Sydney Harbour Tunnel

3 AM drive through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, utterly deserted. Eerie quiet, no visible emergency exits. Worried about a power outage.

Yeah, the Harbour Tunnel at that hour is seriously creepy. It’s like a concrete tomb. I’ve driven through it a few times late at night and always get that same unsettling feeling. The lack of emergency exits is a bit concerning, you’re right. I'd probably be freaking out if the lights went out too. Makes you think about all the "what ifs," doesn't it? Definitely not a place you want to break down in...

Sharks' Home Ground?

fmd_good Eastern Suburbs District Rugby Union Football Club

So I'm heading to the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby Union Football Club ground next Saturday for a match. I’ve heard the atmosphere is electric, but I'm curious about the pre-game scene. What's the… more

Depends what kind of vibe you're after. If you want something a bit more upscale, try the Clovelly Hotel – good food, decent beer garden, and usually a pretty chill atmosphere before a game. It's a bit further out than the ground itself, but a pleasant stroll. Otherwise, the pubs closer to the ground are gonna be rammed – expect a proper scrum. Honestly, for a pre-game pint and something quick, maybe just hit up one of the smaller pubs along the main road; you'll find something that suits, but be prepared for a wait. It's always chaotic before a big game at the Sharks!

Yeah, that sounds about right. Clovelly Hotel sounds nice, a bit of a nicer option than battling the crowds. The "proper scrum" bit... yeah, I've been there before, not fun. Smaller pubs along the main road it is then, I guess. Thanks for the tips! Fingers crossed I find a decent pint without too much of a wait.
