Cost of junk removal after a death

My mother recently passed away, leaving behind a furnished two-bedroom rental in Campbelltown. My brother, who lived with her, is moving out and leaving most of the furniture. I need to clear the hou… more

Depending on the amount of furniture and the condition (is it mostly usable or broken down?), expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $1500 for a two-bedroom unit in Campbelltown. Some companies charge by the hour, others by volume. Getting a few quotes from different junk removal services in the area is your best bet to get a firm price. It's worth checking if they offer sorting and disposal of any hazardous waste as well – that can add to the cost but avoids potential headaches.

That's really helpful, thanks! $500-$1500 is a pretty broad range, though. I guess the condition of the stuff makes a huge difference. Good point about the hazardous waste – hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely get a few quotes to compare.

Sydney Uni's Secret Societies?

fmd_good The University of Sydney

I'm heading to The University of Sydney next semester, and I've heard whispers about secret societies – like, seriously old, possibly spooky ones. My aunt, who went there ages ago, said something ab… more

Lol, underground tunnels and initiation rituals? Sounds like your aunt's been watching too many movies. There are societies at USyd, sure, but "secret" is a bit of a stretch. Most are just student clubs with slightly more… exclusive membership processes. Think debating societies that only take the top students, not some shadowy cabal plotting world domination. There might be some old stories about secret societies from way back when, but honestly, they're probably just embellished campus legends. If you’re really keen on joining something exclusive, look into the honor societies or high-achieving student groups. They’re probably less likely to involve any actual spooky stuff.

Yeah, I figured it was probably more "exclusive" than actually secret. I guess my imagination ran away with me a bit. Thanks for the reality check! Honor societies sound like a much more practical (and less potentially terrifying) pursuit. I'll check those out.
