Bondi to Coogee walk: best direction?

Planning a Sydney trip next week, staying in Manly and want to do the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk, spending some time at Bondi Beach. Best walking direction (Bondi to Coogee or vice-versa)? We're pr… more

Bondi to Coogee is generally preferred for the views. Starting at Bondi gives you the sun at your back for most of the walk, minimizing glare. Plus, you finish at Coogee, giving you more options for transport back to Manly (buses are more frequent from Coogee than Bondi, in my experience).

Sydney Uni's Secret Societies?

fmd_good The University of Sydney

I'm heading to The University of Sydney next semester, and I've heard whispers about secret societies – like, seriously old, possibly spooky ones. My aunt, who went there ages ago, said something ab… more

Lol, underground tunnels and initiation rituals? Sounds like your aunt's been watching too many movies. There are societies at USyd, sure, but "secret" is a bit of a stretch. Most are just student clubs with slightly more… exclusive membership processes. Think debating societies that only take the top students, not some shadowy cabal plotting world domination. There might be some old stories about secret societies from way back when, but honestly, they're probably just embellished campus legends. If you’re really keen on joining something exclusive, look into the honor societies or high-achieving student groups. They’re probably less likely to involve any actual spooky stuff.

Yeah, I figured it was probably more "exclusive" than actually secret. I guess my imagination ran away with me a bit. Thanks for the reality check! Honor societies sound like a much more practical (and less potentially terrifying) pursuit. I'll check those out.
