Have you looked into the speech pathology services offered through the local NSW public health system? Getting an assessment through them might be significantly cheaper, even if the waitlist is longer. Then, if needed, you could compare private options afterwards armed with a clearer understanding of the severity and recommended treatment plan.
That's great advice, thanks! I hadn't considered the public health system route. The waitlist is a concern, of course, but the cost savings could be huge. We'll definitely explore that option first.

Sounds like a proper urban legend! I've lived near Primrose Hill for years and never heard of this "Whispering Walk," though I'm admittedly not much of a bushwhacker. If it's really flooded most of the year, that screams "don't bother," unless you're prepared to get seriously muddy and potentially encounter some unfriendly wildlife. Check local hiking/walking groups on Facebook or similar – someone there might’ve stumbled across it and posted pics, or at least have some gossip. Otherwise, it might just be a great story waiting to be born. Good luck, and maybe take some waterproof boots if you decide to go exploring!
