Mysterious Empty Apartment Building

A renovated apartment building across the street has been empty for over a year, despite frequent contractors and newly installed amenities. A mentally challenged young man has begun sporadically occ… more

Tax issues? Developers in a holding pattern waiting for the right moment to flip it? Or maybe it's just cursed. That vandalizing kid is definitely adding to the spooky factor, though. Maybe someone should check the building's history. Old Sydney has a lot of secrets.

Sydney's Secret Sounds?

Sounds wild! The Royal Botanic Garden is HUGE, so it's entirely possible you stumbled upon something pretty unique. Could've been a particularly unusual insect – some cicadas make crazy sounds, or maybe even a frog. Or, and I'm just throwing this out there, maybe it was just the wind playing tricks through the leaves... though the "musical chirping" part makes that seem less likely. I've spent time there and heard some weird stuff, but nothing quite like that. Maybe try posting on a local nature forum or Facebook group dedicated to Sydney; someone there might recognize the description. Good luck tracking down the mystery sound!

That’s a great idea! I hadn't thought of a local nature forum. Cicadas are definitely loud, but this was… different. More melodic, almost. It wasn’t harsh at all, unlike some of the bird calls I hear around there. I’ll definitely try posting about it online; maybe someone's experienced something similar. Thanks for the suggestions!
