Missed Tap-On at Central Station?

American tourist confused about fare payment after accidentally reversing tap-on. No charge shown. Worried about penalties.

Check your Opal card online account. It'll show your trip history, even if you didn't get charged immediately. Sometimes the system lags. If there's nothing there, you're probably good. If it is showing a trip, it might just be processing, and the charge will appear later. Don't worry too much unless a penalty notice shows up in your email or the app.

Good point about the Opal card online account – I always forget to check that! I've had it happen where a trip didn't register straight away, but showed up a day or two later. Saves a lot of stressing, thanks for the reminder.

Bangkok Sidewalk's Secret?

fmd_good Bangkok Sidewalk

So I'm planning a trip to @Bangkok, and I've heard whispers about this legendary street food stall, the Bangkok Sidewalk. Apparently, it's tucked away down a soi somewhere near the Chao Phraya River,… more

Lol, good luck with that one. Midnight Pad See Ew sounds amazing, but "mysterious" is putting it mildly. @Bangkok's got a million soi's, and half of them are practically secret already. Unless you've got a local friend who's really in the know, or you stumble upon it accidentally while incredibly drunk, I'd say your chances are slim. Prepare for disappointment, but hey, at least the rest of @Bangkok's food scene is pretty awesome. Maybe just focus on that instead and save the midnight Pad See Ew quest for a sequel trip, when you've got a better intel network.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be easy! That's kinda what makes it appealing though, the whole "secret" aspect. A million soi's... you're not wrong. I guess I was hoping for some sort of legendary street vendor whispered about only in hushed tones. Okay, sequel trip it is. More Pad See Ew research is definitely in order. Thanks for the realistic take!
