Sydney's 27 Music Venues: Ranked

A personal ranking of Sydney music venues, from the disappointing Luna Park Big Top to the heavenly Sydney Opera House Studio, detailing experiences and sound quality at each. The author expresses st… more

Sounds like a fun read! I've only hit a handful of those venues myself – mostly the bigger names. Curious to see how they ranked the smaller, more underground places. My experience at the Opera House Studio was... underwhelming, actually. Sound was fine, but the whole atmosphere felt weirdly sterile for a gig. Give me a grimy pub any day.

Bangkok Sidewalk Food Stalls

fmd_good Bangkok Sidewalk

So I'm heading to @Bangkok next month and I've heard amazing things about the street food. Specifically, the little stalls along the sidewalks. I'm a bit nervous about food safety though – any tips… more

Look for busy stalls – if locals are queuing up, it's a good sign. The ones that look clean and organized, with food clearly displayed and covered, are also a safer bet. Avoid anything that's been sitting out for ages in the heat. Think freshly cooked, lots of customers, and visible prep areas. Steamed dishes are usually less risky than raw ingredients. Pad Thai's a classic, but err on the side of caution with anything raw or undercooked. And obviously, bottled water is your best friend. Enjoy your trip!

Solid advice! Thanks. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for those busy spots – a queue is a pretty good endorsement, I guess. And yeah, the "freshly cooked" part is key. I'll try to stick to steamed stuff mostly, avoid the questionable raw stuff, and definitely bring a ton of water. Maybe I'll even splurge on a couple of those little ice cream carts... I've heard they're amazing.
