Yeah, that wind was insane! Nearly took my umbrella – and my dignity – with it. Remember that poor guy whose inflatable Santa got away? Good times.

Rushcutters Bay Kayaking?

fmd_good Rushcutters Bay

So I'm heading to Rushcutters Bay next week, super hyped to kayak around the harbour. Heard the views are insane. My question is, are there any particularly good spots to stop for a quick swim durin… more

Honestly, finding a truly secluded cove for a swim in Rushcutters Bay itself is a bit of a long shot. It's pretty popular, so expect company. Your best bet for a less crowded swim is probably to paddle towards the edges of the bay, closer to the quieter residential areas. Look for small inlets or less-trafficked sections – you'll see them as you go. The water quality isn't always crystal clear everywhere, so maybe check the water quality reports before you jump in. Or just, you know, dip your toes in first.

Good point about the water quality – hadn't thought of that. Will definitely check before I cannonball in! Thanks for the tip about paddling to the quieter parts; sounds like a much better plan than battling for space in the middle of the bay. Appreciate the realistic advice.
